Red Flower - Last look

I've come to the end of my red flower project, We've watched the complete cycle of three buds from green to drying browns. I just wanted to post this one last pretty-reds picture I took some weeks ago as a good-bye to them.

Same flower, different angle and a bit of looseness in the petals... soon it will suddenly unfurl.

The 2nd flower was rapdily eaten and destroyed - here is the third in mid unfurl. I'll be posting a lot on this for a few days as it all happens so quickly.

#1 bloom has fallen just as #2 begins to unfurl...

Our first buds curls up and dies and the second shows the first signs of opening... I once knew a name for this process (why one flower opens after another rather than simultaneously to avoid self-pollination) but I have failed to rediscover it.
