Peeps have expressed some curiosity about the process behind painting the pieces so here some illustrative photos around making mountains:
Three pieces: one complete prototype, one with just a base coat of grey, and one raw model before painting.
Here the models have had 2 colours of shadow in the darkest places and a small amount of highlighting on the ridges.
Finally the pieces are washed down with a very thin black enamel wash which runs into all the cracks and generally intergrates the underlying colours.
